On November 20, he celebrated his 78th birthday and in January he became the oldest president in the history of the United States. By then, wait, his foot injury, which he sustained while playing with one of his two dogs, should also heal. President-elect Joe Biden slipped, fell and sprained his ankle while cavorting with his dog at his home in Wilmington, Delaware.

On Sunday, Biden visited with an orthopedic surgeon, “out of great caution,” as his office put it. The doctor couldn’t see any major fractures on X-rays. But what he recognized: fine cracks in two small bones of the foot, the so-called “cuneiform bones.”
