Listeria has been detected in three chicken salad bowls sold by Migros. The Federal Office for Food and Veterinary Safety (FSVO) recommends not consuming the products, as a health hazard cannot be ruled out, as stated in a statement Tuesday.
The affected products are Migros Daily Saladbowl Chicken (item number: 1313.522 / to be consumed before December 15, 2020 and before December 16, 2020), Migros Daily Saladbowl Chicken Cheese (item number: 1313.545 / to be consumed before December 15, 2020 and until December 16, 2020) and Anna’s Best Saladbowl Poulet Caprese (item number: 1303.247 / to be consumed until December 15, 2020, until December 17, 2020 and until December 18, December 2020).
An infection with the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes is usually mild or even without symptoms in people with an intact immune system, as FSVO writes. And: In immunosuppressed people, several serious symptoms can develop, with a potentially fatal outcome. During pregnancy, Listeria infection can lead to miscarriage or the child can be born with blood poisoning or meningitis.
