Records, lightning races and winning streaks – Swiss sport has offered many highlights in recent years. Behind all the successes there are personalities who have achieved impressive results. A special selection of national sports celebrities will be honored on December 13, 2020 on the live broadcast “Sports Awards – the best from 70 years”.
In the five categories of female athletes, athletes, teams, coaches, and Paralympic athletes, past winners are again available for selection. Starting at 8:05 pm SRF 1, RTS 2 and RSI LA 2, the television audience can follow live who is among the best of all time.

During the live broadcast, viewers can call their favorites and have a say in the award ceremony. Televoting audience votes and Sports Awards Academy election results each count 50 percent.
Who wins in the team category was determined by a public online vote prior to the television show. The Sports Awards Academy made a direct decision on the winner in the Paralympic Athletes and Coaches categories.
Sandra Studer and Rainer Maria Salzgeber lead the live show
Due to the corona pandemic, the “Sports Awards” in 2020 will not honor the most successful sports personalities of the year, but the best since the awards ceremony began. The live broadcast moderated by Sandra Studer and Rainer Maria Salzgeber also takes place without a studio audience.
In addition to honors, talks, reviews, and shows provide entertainment. The Swiss hard rock band Gotthard performs the hit “Eye Of The Tiger”, Fabienne Louves and Licia Chery sing the sports anthem “One Moment In Time” as a duet.
