The government of the Canton of Zurich is expanding existing measures to combat the corona pandemic until the end of the year. There are no new measures in the most populated canton.
“We are on a good, albeit arduous, road in the canton of Zurich,” District President Silvia Steiner (CVP) told a news conference on Friday about how to proceed in the fight against the corona virus. The Zurich governing council is “cautiously optimistic” in light of the latest developments.
“We want to follow a path where restaurants stay open and are safe at the same time,” said Security Director Mario Fehr (SP). The same applies to stores – you should be able to shop without getting infected.
Schools must also remain open. “It is very important to us that face-to-face teaching can be maintained at all levels,” explained Director of Education Steiner. That is to say, there is a risk of producing a “Crown year with holes in education.”
