The complaint, which also includes allegations of kidnapping and the threat of 25 years in prison, is directed against the KGB secret service and the special police to combat organized crime. According to her staff in Minsk, Kolesnikova names the officials who threatened her and pulled a sack over her head. And she emphasized that she could identify men in a confrontation.

Kolesnikova was abducted in Minsk on Monday and ordered to leave the country under threat of physical violence. She should be deported to neighboring Ukraine. The security forces had told him: “alive or dismembered,” he wrote.

But Kolesnikowa had broken his passport at the border crossing and prevented his deportation. Her attorney Lyudmila Kasak announced Wednesday night after a meeting with her that she was bruised from the violent action.

Kolesnikowa, who had been active on the cultural scene in Stuttgart for many years, is detained in Minsk on charges of attempted seizure of power. Her lawyer Kasak described the accusations as an “absurd” attempt to silence those who think differently. “Maria feels good and brave despite the stress she has experienced in the last two days,” said Kasak.

During the demonstrations for the release of Kolesnikova on Wednesday in Minsk, there were numerous arrests. There is great concern for the politician. Belarus is the only country in Europe that still applies the death penalty, with a shot in the neck. (sda / dpa)
