The course of the accident and, in particular, the clarification of what caused the fall of the avalanche are now the subject of investigations, which are being carried out by the Nidwalden Public Prosecutor’s Office with the support of the Nidwalden Cantonal Police and other specialists.

In addition to the police from the cantons of Obwalden and Nidwalden, the Air Rescue Service (REGA), Alpine Rescue Switzerland (ARS), Titlis Piste & Rescue Service, the rescue service and the Nidwalden / Engelberg Care Team were on duty. .
