The canton of Zurich police have arrested five men in the cantons of Zurich, Aargau and Lucerne. A 36-year-old is said to have been attacked in Affoltern.
Canton Zurich police arrested five men in the cantons of Zurich, Aargau and Lucerne on Monday morning. Among other things, they are charged with assaulting and wounding a 36-year-old person in Affoltern am Albis on August 22. Based on the current status of the investigation, it is likely that several people have been involved in this crime, the canton police announced on Tuesday.
Cantonal police write that the detainees are members of a motorcycle club. They are between 22 and 45 years old, four are from Switzerland and one from Croatia. Men are also prosecuted for other crimes.
The Zurich prosecutor’s office has opened criminal proceedings in relation to the incident and has requested preventive detention for the five people detained at the Compulsory Measures Court. The background and the exact course of the crime are the subject of further investigations by the Zurich Canton Police and the Zurich Public Prosecutor’s Office.
New Hells Angels Clulokal
It is not known if the detainees are members of the Hells Angels motorcycle club. In Merenschwand, a neighboring community a few kilometers from Affoltern am Albis, a branch of the Hells Angels opened a club a few years ago. Cantonal police do not reveal whether members of this motorcycle club were involved in the incident due to the ongoing investigation.
The restaurant is run by a newer branch of the Hells Angels, the so-called Chapter carries the additional name Caveside. In the past it happened between rival motorcycle clubs such as Bandidos and Hells Angels repeatedly to violent confrontations.
