Armed perpetrator demands cigarettes and cash: robbery at a gas station in Buchs
On Sunday night, an unknown man attacked the Coop Pronto gas station on St. Gallerstrasse in Buchs. The perpetrator was armed with a knife. He stole a bar of cigarettes and several hundred francs in cash. The two saleswomen were unharmed.
(Red.) An unknown masked man, in his 20s and 30s, walked into the Coop Pronto store in Buchs at 6.40pm Sunday night. Armed with a knife, he asked a saleswoman to hand him a bar of cigarettes and the entire contents of the cash register. According to a message from the police of the canton of St. Gallen, the seller complied with the request. The stranger then fled with the crime in an unknown direction. The search for the thief that was immediately unleashed has been unsuccessful so far.
In addition to the police of the canton of St. Gallen with various patrols and service dogs, the Border Guard Corps and the State Police of the Principality of Liechtenstein were also in action.
