The rumors have come true. Apple today focused on the watch, the iPad, and subscriptions. I’ll have to look at my list of things later, none of which showed up.
The new Apple watches: At first glance, the Series 6 and the Apple Watch SE seem like minor updates. A detailed test should show whether this is true in everyday life. The new processor and the new health sensor in particular cannot be evaluated using videos. The new family mode (or kid tracker) is also extremely exciting. Personally, I’m looking forward to new bracelets and dials a lot more. After the two big updates in the previous two years (new design, always-on display), the Apple Watch deserves a quieter year. But don’t forget the cheaper Apple Watch SE. This should once again inspire numerous buyers of the watch. A clever move by Apple to cover the entire price range from over 1000 francs to 200 francs.
The new iPads: The faster regular iPad should (untested) my budget recommendation. Assuming Apple doesn’t make any mistakes. The new iPad Air is more exciting: thanks to the new A14 processor, it is the lucky bag among iPads. A comparison will show if you can keep up with the much more expensive iPads Pro or even beat them.
Apple one: The new collective subscription for all Apple services was only worth a side note at the event. It has enormous potential. I’ll have to take a closer look at what the subscription will look like for the next few hours and days.
And yes, Apple didn’t actually show any new iPhones. Since the event was so short, it is no longer entirely out of the question that Apple actually plans two more events. One for iPhones in October and one for new Macs in November.
