«Three weeks ago we had a private event and goal setting workshop. On the one hand, players had to look back at last season and analyze it: what was good, what was not so good? Communicating goals is always one of those things. There are two clubs in the Super League that aspire to win the championship. So there is probably a club that is usually the newcomer who says: He wants to stay up. And then there are seven other clubs and all seven will probably aim to play in Europe. That is certainly the case with the FCZ. That is our common thread. We are and will continue to be ambitious.
But but! We not only have a quantitative goal, but also a qualitative one. To achieve this, we worked hard together with Marinko Jurendic and the new director of training and development, Heinz Moser. For us it is important to take a step forward in the areas of training, talent management and scouting. We are pretty good at it, but there is still room for improvement.»
… to coach Ludovic Magnin:
«The coach’s question is a popular question from journalists after losing a few games. We judge the coach not only by the results, but above all by how he works during the week, from Monday to Friday. How is your training? How do you deal with the team? It’s about innovation, effort, experience. And intelligence plays an important role. Therefore, we are very satisfied with Ludovic. Not forgetting: With him we became cup champions, with him we reached the round of 32 of the Europa League.

Sometimes he himself cannot avoid goals. Nor could he avoid the crisis of the crown and the quarantine that we had. The second half of the season was bad, sorry for that expression. But in the preliminary round we had a series that we were leading with. We try, to give a differentiated look at the problem.»

«In terms of level, it has improved a little compared to the start of last season. In terms of grinta and mentality, we are at a high level thanks to the transfers we made. I think of Lasse Sobiech, he’s a great guy. But also a player as young as Wilfried Gnonto, who shoots up like a rocket. We have taken a good step forward, the team is getting closer and closer. It has more automatisms. I am convinced that we are in a better position than twelve months ago.»
… to federal loans:
«All Super League and Challenge League clubs had virtually no income for four to five months and still had fixed costs for infrastructure and personnel. Compensation for short-time work certainly helped us. It is the same for all clubs: the problem is liquidity. Therefore, it is important that we are on the right track when it comes to federal loans. Highlight: loans! These are not grants or gifts. We have to return the money at some point. The issue has already been discussed in parliament and it appears that federal money will flow in October and November. They are essential for everyone to survive. We need an amount in the mid single digit millions. 5 million francs? That is not all bad.»
