There are too many dead. More than 7,500 people have already died in Switzerland this year due to Corona. Currently, about 80 new deaths are added every day. This value, which is also very high in an international comparison, has barely changed in almost two months. And that will not change anytime soon, because the number of people in this country who are infected with the virus every day is still too great.

With the actions that the French-speaking cantons first and the Federal Council took too late for all of Switzerland, we have managed to break the exponential growth of new infections. As a reminder: in early November, almost 10,000 people were infected with the virus every day in Switzerland. Currently, there are still around 3,500 a day, which prevented the collapse of the health system, but it will be many weeks before hospitals return to normal, even in the best conceivable scenario. The number of daily cases must be at least ten times less. Unfortunately, in this long Corona year, we have learned that the pandemic generally does not play out as optimists hope.
