“If the number of cases continues to develop as before, hospitalizations will reach a critical level”: Rudolf Hauri.

Mr. Hauri, is Corona’s situation serious or already dramatic?
The situation with new infections is serious, very clear. Hospitals can still cope with this at this time. But if the number of cases continues to develop as before, then hospitalizations will reach a critical level and the capacities of the hospitals will no longer be sufficient.
When will this moment be reached?
It is always difficult to forecast this pandemic. I suspect we will see a sharp increase in hospitalizations over the next two weeks. Currently the situation is different from what we had in the spring: at that time, many elderly people fell ill, many people at risk. Today the group of patients is more heterogeneous. Everything becomes really critical when the virus again affects more and more vulnerable people.
