The president of the United States, Donald Trump (74), already named himself the winner of the elections before the result was known. Regarding his choice, Trump said today: “Ohio, Texas or Georgia, we win practically everything!” In a speech, Trump has already claimed the votes of voters from states that have not yet been counted. “But we don’t need these additional votes, we will win anyway.”
That doesn’t sit well with Trump fans either. Even for SVP National Councilor Roger Köppel (55) this is “a no-go”. And even in Hollywood, people are not at all thrilled about Trump’s announcement, as Twitter shows. Meanwhile, numerous stars have commented on the scandal.
“Every vote counts”
“What he’s doing is more than dangerous,” comedian Patton Oswalt (51) wrote on Twitter.
“We have to wait for millions of votes by mail to be counted,” demanded Oscar winner Charlize Theron (45). “Our democracy is based on the right to vote and the belief that every vote counts,” the actress wrote on Twitter.
Trump is afraid because he knows he will lose the election, wrote comedian Josh Gad (39). “If you try to steal this election before every vote is counted, we will hit the streets en masse.”
All ballots must be counted until the last vote, warned comedian and host James Corden (42). “Keep breathing,” he recommended on Twitter. “This could take a while.”
You should not let Trump vote for the winner that night, singer and actress Bette Midler (74) tweeted.
Elizabeth Banks is “restless”
In the head-to-head race for the US presidency, many stars had spoken out on election night. “I run restlessly from one place to another,” he wrote of “The Hunger Games” star Elizabeth Banks (46) on Twitter. This way, you at least break down how much ice cream you eat, the actress joked.
“If you wake up worried today, you are not alone,” tweeted rapper Common (48). But better times are ahead, said supporter Joe Biden (77) with a hopeful vision of a possible election victory for the Democrat.
Many celebrities asked their fans to queue at polling stations and cast their votes. “If you’re in line and the voting deadline has passed, stay there. They have to let you in, ”wrote reality TV star Kim Kardashian (40) on Twitter.
Kerry Washington (43, “Django Unchained”) also urged his fans to hang on to the end. “Every voice has to be heard and told,” the actress warned. (sda / klm)
