Again, bad news from the aviation industry, which was hit hard by the Corona crisis: According to the VPOD union, Air France-KLM airline wants to cut jobs in Switzerland. 37 of the 80 employees in Zurich and Geneva are affected, the union said in a statement on Wednesday.
The works will be outsourced to third-party companies, some of them to Budapest. Employees at check-in, ticketing, customer service and sales staff are affected, the letter says.
Now a strike threatens
The airline stopped consulting with staff representatives. The labor force demands the resumption of negotiations and a social plan. Combat measures would be considered. The dismantling was not the result of the Corona crisis, but of an old restructuring plan, said a trade unionist. (pbe / SDA)
