Francesco Margiotta, who was still Lucerne’s life insurance company with 20 league goals last season, will no longer appear in FCL. It has been clear since Friday: the Italian Clippers have gambled hard. After his strong season, Margiotta loudly and publicly demanded a new and better working document from sports director Remo Meyer. Meyer is not blackmailed, there is no increase in salary. And because Margiotta defiantly skipped training, FC Luzern will now take legal action against the former Juventino and renounce any further cooperation with Margiotta.
It is already the seventh exit of FCL
After Blessing Eleke, David Mistrafovic, Otar Kakabadze, Darian Males, Idriz Voca and Shkelqim Demhasaj, Margiotta is already FCL’s seventh outing. Lucerne is in a state of convulsion. Sports director Meyer is very calm. During the week the signing of Dejan Sorgic made perfect. The former Lucerne junior should become Margiotta’s replacement. Sorgic would be eligible to play Basel on Sunday.
On the other hand, Samuel Alabi is not there yet. The offensive man, who recently arrived from Ashdod in Israel, has yet to train with the team due to the quarantine obligation. The same happens with the Spanish Alex Carbonell, who has moved from Valencia to Central Switzerland.
Müller’s challenge
After the many outings and the scandal that surrounded Margiotta, the people of Lucerne now expect some peace and quiet. Surely the first three would help. Goalkeeper Marius Müller agrees: “The first win would be good and important for self-confidence. The times in Basel are also tough at the moment, so it could be a good time to win. We beat FCB twice at home last season. Now we want to do our best in Basel, ”said Müller.
