An 86-year-old Italian woman had to amputate three fingers because of her crown disease. That reports the “Daily Mail”. Because the coronavirus not only attacks the airways of the body, but also attacks other organs and the body itself.
The coronavirus is known to damage blood vessels. However, it has not yet been clearly clarified why this is so. The European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery published photos of the fingers of the 86-year-old crowned patient.
That the fingers die is the result of damage to the blood vessels. Constipation occurs: the affected limbs receive very little blood and therefore very little oxygen and die.
The most common theory about this is that it is the result of an excessive immune reaction triggered by infection of the crown, where the body attacks healthy tissue. In February 2020, a 54-year-old Californian had to amputate two fingers. (euc)
