After a tremendous game at the end, Basel returns to the path of victory in Sion – sport

• FCB returned to success on matchday 16 of the Super League in Sion.
• Ciriaco Sforza’s team wins the tourbillon 3-2.
• After a sovereign first half, Basel loosens up and has to shake about 3 points at the end.

“We have talked a lot, now we have to deliver on the field,” Valentin Stocker had declared in the run-up to the guest performance at Sion. After the 1: 4 slap against FCZ last Saturday, a reaction was needed. And it came.

A double by Gaëtan Karlen (77./83.) – Van Wolfswinkel had made it 3-1 for Basel in the 79th minute – rekindled the hopes of Fabio Grosso’s side. But the Basler held firm behind, brought the 3 points with oh and no noise.

Once again, Basel lived up to its reputation as Zion’s fearsome opponent. Of the last 58 Super League matches, Valais only won 5.
