On Wednesday, the police found the body of a 38-year-old Swiss from the canton of Bern in an apartment in Lengnau BE. On Thursday night, officers detained a first suspect during a major operation in Biel. Police have now arrested another man who is believed to be involved in the events.
A service weapon was used during the police operation in Biel: the suspect was armed with a knife and was therefore shot by an officer. The man is still in hospital care, according to the police and the regional prosecutor’s office in the Jura-Seeland of Bern.
Investigations are ongoing
There is still a suspicion that the injured person has something to do with the violent crime. Investigations are ongoing into the role of the two men and the exact course of events.
The man who was found dead in Lengnau on Wednesday was not the tenant of the apartment in question. A resident of the Chasseralweg 12 block told BLICK on Thursday: “No one from the neighbors knows what happened.” (SDA / noo)
