The truck driver was injured in the accident and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
According to initial estimates, there was significant material damage to the highway infrastructure. The vehicle was destroyed. The corresponding section of the highway had to be completely closed for a short period of time for the damaged work. As a result, there were traffic obstructions on the surrounding streets. In addition to various services of the Bern cantonal police, a team of ambulances from Bern Protection and Rescue and a tow truck service were on duty. Several drivers who filmed or photographed with their mobile phones while driving must wait for a report.
