A tram collided with a truck on Badenerstrasse, near the Letzigrund stadium. Several passengers were injured.
On Monday morning, a line 2 tram collided with a truck on Badenerstrasse in the city of Zurich. Several people were injured. The corresponding report was received shortly after 10 am, the city police wrote in a message. As a result, there was a large-scale deployment of rescue workers. The city police asked for information on the number of injured and the severity of the injuries.
The collision occurred at the Letzigrund stadium. Rescue workers are still on duty there; Badenerstrasse is closed between Freihofstrasse and Herdernstrasse. The same applies to the operation of the tram between the Letzigrund and Grimselstrasse stations. This is what the VBZ writes in an operational status report. Therefore, line 2 currently only serves the sections between Tiefenbrunnen and Letzigrund and between Schlieren Geissweid and Grimselstrasse.
Spare buses are being used between Letzigrund and Grimselstrasse, but wait times are expected. The VBZ recommends that passengers to and from Farbhof take bus line 35 through Lindenplatz, and that passengers to and from Kappeli and Altstetten take bus line 83 or 89.
