Positive or not? The whole country is concerned about this issue. The answer is provided by a new rapid antigen test from the American company Abbott. It is now available in Switzerland. The generic company Mepha sells it. His name: Panbio.
The new rapid test detects nine out of ten infected people. It delivers results in 15 minutes and is available at pharmacies, doctor’s offices, hospitals, and Covid testing centers. The federal government bears the costs for people who are considered symptomatic according to the criteria of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), but also for people without symptoms who have received a report from the Swiss Covid app.

A nasopharyngeal swab is taken for the rapid Abbott test. The test detects a protein of the antigen that is present when a person is currently infected. Deliver the result directly on the spot.
The rapid test is CE certified, according to the Mepha announcement. It has been tested by a Swiss reference laboratory and is one of two tests approved for the federal strategy to combat the Covid 19 pandemic. The other is from Roche. Follow the update.
