Online retailers are unaware of the crisis. This applies to the Competec Group like almost any other company: since the closure, all the media have reported on the increase in sales of Brack.ch and other divisions of the Aargau company, owned by Roland Brack of Fricktal.
Now the group announces that it wants to grow with another brand: it takes over the family business Medidor, which is based in Aesch (ZH) and employs 27 people.
The company was founded in 1991 in Arosa by Bettina and Peter Ambühl. At the time, they mainly sold neck pillows to specialty retailers until their product portfolio steadily expanded into the healthcare sector. With the Competec Group, the two owners found a succession plan that, according to Competec’s communication, corresponds to their ideas: Everything must continue as before, from the Aesch showroom to the online platforms and employees.
Roland Brack’s Competec Group expects to conquer more market segments in the healthcare sector. A specialized brand is essential for this, says CEO Martin Lorenz. Both parties are silent on the sale price. (iodine)
