British nurse Lucy Letby (30) is said to have killed eight babies. There is also a suspicion of the attempted murder of nine other babies. The setting: Countess of Chester Hospital in North West England.
As “The Sun” writes, Lucy Letby was arrested on Tuesday and is now on remand. It’s not the first time she’s been behind bars – she was arrested in 2018 and 2019 for alleged baby killings, but was released on bail.
Neonatal unit locked
It should have happened between 2015 and 2016: At that time, doctors at Countess of Chester Hospital noticed that the number of newborn deaths had risen, for no apparent reason. Special investigators were called in and the neonatal unit was temporarily closed.
Then Lucy Letby came into the spotlight of investigators. He has worked in the neonatal unit since graduating in 2011. It is unclear how he allegedly killed the babies. A friend describes Letby as a “reliable nurse” who does not harm flies.
