In Valorant they are called agents, in Overwatch they are heroes, and in Crucible, players compete as so-called hunters. Crucible is a multiplayer shooting game that can be downloaded free on Steam for Windows PC from May 20, 2020.

The game was created in Seattle by development studio Relentless, which belongs to Amazon Games. Its executive director is Louis Castle, one of the founders of Westwood (Lands of Lore).
The games take place on an alien planet on the edge of the galaxy, offering many colorful jungles and mysterious ruins. There is currently no single player mode.
Hunters have humans, robots, and aliens. For example, there is an interstellar trucker named Earl who can take a lot and take heavy weapons. Or Summer, a former combat champion and welder who uses enemies to warm up his opponents.
In battles, players collect so-called quasi-experience essence points with which you can improve your strength and abilities.
Crucible begins with three modes: At the heart of the swarms, two teams, each with four players, compete against hives of bosses that appear around the world. Each swarm contains one heart and the first team that fights for three hearts wins the match.
Harvester Command Mode challenges two teams of eight players each to capture and keep the Harvesters spread across the map. This takes control of the essence that has brought you all to the planet. The team that manages to empty the resources of the other team wins.
The third mode is called Alpha Hunter. In it, eight two-player teams fight to survive the battle as the only one.

According to the developers, Crucible is based on very fast battles. But above all it is necessary “To permanently adapt strategies to rapidly developing situations due to the actions of opponents and the constantly changing planet”.
