The welcoming and explanatory atmosphere on the German talk shows is over. Frank Plasberg and “Hart aber fair” also got down to business on Monday night.

And a desperate mother wondering how long she can handle the situation without daycare and elementary school with her husband (both in the home office) and the three children.
Which is the topic
Home Office, not a concert, cinema or pub: More and more Germans are protesting against the restrictions caused by the crown pandemic and want to regain their freedom. At the same time, there has been a debate about where to relax first.
What is more important? Professional soccer? The nurseries? Frank Plasberg discussed with his guests in “Hart but fair” on the subject “Bunker in lockdown: what leaves Corona of our lives?”
Who are the guests?
Malu Dreyer: For the Prime Minister of the Rhineland-Palatinate (SPD), relaxation is gradually the right way. Dreyer announced that after the prime ministers’ meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) on Wednesday, restaurant openings across the country could be decided in May. On the other hand, he was unable to say when regular operations would return to school.
Prof. Dr. Melanie Brinkmann: For the virologist, it is extremely important to closely monitor the number of infections after gradual relief, because today’s infection can only be read two weeks after the statistics. Brinkmann also gave grandparents hope to reunite with their grandchildren: “If the children were now in quarantine,” says the virologist, “it would not be a problem” to see grandma and grandpa.
Ulrich Matthes: For the actor, the cultural scene was neglected in the discussions of the last weeks. He warned about the death of a cinema and was very concerned about theater in medium and small cities. The sign of so much being said about football again, Matthes visibly upset called it “difficult.”
Alexander Herrmann: The star chef, restaurateur and hotel owner considered measures against the spread of the virus appropriate. But now you want nothing more than a prospect for reopening in your industry.
“If we continue as before, we will reach a cliff where we all fall,” Herrmann warned. So the collateral damage is greater than the damage caused by Corona. “I can’t sell the schnitzel that I won’t sell twice today tomorrow.”
Katrin Bruns: With the mother of three young children, the edgy disguise in the home office becomes thinner. “We are annoyed at each other. We are becoming increasingly exhausted.” Some want to learn, others Bruns and her husband have to work.
An almost impossible balancing act. It lacks hope and perspective, because schools are not expected to function regularly until there is a vaccine. Bruhns would like clear words from politics in this regard. Malu Dreyer was unable to fulfill his wish.
What was the duel of the night?
The number of infected people from the 1st and 2nd Football Bundesliga released on Monday provided completely different interpretations. Alexander Herrmann saw them as an “incredibly positive sign” and said: “Ten out of 1,700 and a few crushed. I don’t know how far we want to go.”
“The number says nothing at all!” Noted the virologist Brinkmann. “Yes!” Herrmann exploded. “No!” Brinkmann insisted on his position.

Then the cook began his angry speech. “You keep saying any number. If they fit you, they are correct. Then another appears and says: ‘I am also a virologist. It is not that. We have to take that number now.'” That’s exactly what excites me. “
Initially, Brinkmann avoided the verbal counterattack, but Ulrich Matthes jumped in beside him: “Four weeks ago, virologists were the best. And now they and many others are starting to establish the base for virologists. That simply cannot be true. “
When the mood calmed, Brinkmann was also able to present his argument. In their eyes, the validity of tests in football clubs is irrelevant as long as it is not known whether three or ten come from a club and how they are distributed regionally.

“It’s about surviving,” said Katrin Bruns, mother of three children. In doing so, he drew attention to the desperate situation of the parents.
Because working in the home office and caring for multiple children, for many months at a time, this can hardly be handled by many. Bruns felt that politics had long been forgotten, as he emphasized.
How did Frank Plasberg fare?
This time Plasberg found his teacher on the talker Ulrich Matthes. Matthes talked, talked and talked, and still managed charmingly over and over again so that Plasberg wouldn’t interrupt him.
Once he even told the bewildered host that it was his turn. “Can I? Can I?” Plasberg asked later with a mischievous smile after Matthes hadn’t let him interrupt.
In the end, the actor apologized for representing the interests of art so vehemently. “With passion!” Said Matthes. Plasberg observed the temporary moderator.

Germany about a month and a half after initial restrictions began: The snapshot showed that impatience is increasing in parts of the population. Therefore it was still the privileged part of the Germans, who was portrayed in “Hart but fair”.
How does a single mother with two children feel in the two-bedroom apartment after the weeks of near quarantine?
The letter from an older person, who claims to adhere to hygiene standards in an exemplary manner, complained that she would like to decide for herself what risks she would take. Not forgetting the many people in nursing homes, some of whom suffer a lot of isolation.
“Bunker in lockdown: What does Corona leave of our lives?” Asked the title of the program. This cannot be answered in a general way. Ullrich Matthes, who works permanently in the theater, accepted the situation quite calmly, although he has to do without much.
With the mother Katrin Bruns, on the other hand, the nerves are becoming thinner, the quality of life decreases and the phenomenon of the camp increases. So it was no surprise that when the last question was asked, who would you trade with for a day, did each of the guests get chosen at least once. Only the mother does not.
