Former Schalke junior Hiannick Kamba died in a car accident four years ago, at least so many of his friends and former teammates believe. Now Manuel Neuer’s former colleague has apparently reappeared.

Was Hiannick Kamba’s death really false? This is stated by the newspaper “Bild”, which reports on Monday that the former partner of the goalkeeper of the German national team, Manuel Neuer, has reappeared.

On January 9, 2016, the former defender with Congolese roots was said to have died in a car accident in his home country. His then employer Evonik even posted a death notice (see photo above) and his then club VfB Hüls also reported the death. Kamba is also listed as deceased on the “Transfermarkt” football network. Now the “Bild” writes: “Kamba lives and is back in the Ruhr area.”

According to the German newspaper, the Essen prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into insurance fraud. Not against Kamba himself, but against his ex-wife. “The accused is accused of fraud. But she denies the fact. The trial is still ongoing, ”chief prosecutor Anette Milk is quoted as saying.

The 33-year-old man reportedly reported to the German embassy in Kinshasa in early 2018 and reported that the news of his death was not true. “He said that his companions left him at night on a trip to the interior of the Congo and left him without papers, money, telephone, etc.,” said the Attorney General for Milk.

Almost two years ago, Kamba requested that he be allowed to re-enter Germany. After lengthy investigation and formalities, he is said to have recently moved into his old home near Gelsenkirchen, and even got his old job back.
