A 16-year-old boy was found unconscious and injured in Basel on Sunday night.
According to the Basel-Stadt prosecutor’s office, it has not yet been possible to clarify what had happened to him.
The young man was found around 03.15 am at Allschwilerstrasse at the Morgartenring tram stop. Previous investigations by the Criminal Police of the Prosecutor’s Office revealed that two passers-by had seen the young man lying on the ground in front of the entrance of a house and initially unknown.
Next to him was a second stranger who told these passersby in broken German that they should take care of him. He himself must go now. This man went out on foot and got on a tram in the direction of Basel. Passersby gave first aid to the unconscious man who had injuries to his face.
The injured man was sent to an emergency room and has since been identified. But it has not yet been clarified what happened, and it was not known on Sunday how long the young man was lying in front of the entrance of the house. Witnesses are sought.
