Toward Kreuzgut and Hohberg schools A total of seven students from five different classes tested positive for Covid-19, the website toponline.ch reported Sunday. Christian Ulmer, president of the City School Board, confirmed the report to the Keystone-SDA news agency.
The two affected schools, as well as the four Kreuzgut kindergartens and the Hohberg day school, are expected to remain closed until Wednesday. The health department conducts contact tracing and clarifies if there are more infections.
Students are distance taught for three days, as Ulmer said. Schoolchildren in the affected classes had the opportunity to be tested for the virus on Sunday. Schoolchildren are not required to be quarantined during distance learning.
When face-to-face classes can resume, a decision will likely be made on Thursday, Ulmer said. (sda)
