Ciao Cristiano! Juventus fails in Porto – Haaland shoots BVB to quarter-finals

Surprisingly, Juventus of Turin fails in the knockout stages of the Champions League at FC Porto. Juve did not get over a 3-2 win after extra time after 1: 2 in the first leg despite a long overcoming. In addition to Porto, Borussia Dortmund are also in the quarter-finals, which began to shake late against Sevilla.

Like last year, Juventus Turin failed in the knockout stages of the Champions League. The Italian champions win the home game 3-2 after extra time against Porto, but that’s not enough after the 1-2 in the first leg.

In the extension, the events rushed again. FC Porto, who led 1-0 at halftime but then barely appeared on offense, ultimately scored the decisive 2-2 with a free kick from striker Sergio Oliveira’s double. Almost in return, Adrien Rabiot scored to make it 3-2 for Turin, but failed to score the fourth goal they needed.

The 2-2 goal will especially annoy Juventus. The ball went through the wall and entered the goal between Cristiano Ronaldo’s legs. Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny did not have a good figure either.

In the end, Juventus Turin’s clear rise after the break went unrewarded. Andrea Pirlo’s team had reported back after being 0: 1 behind in the second half and, thanks to two goals, made up 1: 2 in the first leg. Federico Chiesa scored twice until the 63rd minute.

Turin goals had emerged, also because the Portuguese champions only played ten from minute 54. Iranian Mehdi Taremi, who had put the penalty at 1-0, received the second warning for pushing the ball away. Then Juventus repeatedly came close to the third goal. Among other things, Juan Cuadrado only hit the crossbar.

After all, it was Porto’s selfless defensive work that paid off. Led by veteran Pepe, the Portuguese confidently avoided the goal in the first half and then with a bit of luck. For Turin, who are also classified below expectations in the championship, it is a bitter elimination and it is already the third in a row against a rival that belongs to the European second base. In 2019 Ajax Amsterdam was the end of the line and last year Olympique de Lyon.

Dortmund – Sevilla 2: 2; HS: 3: 2

Borussia Dortmund reached the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2017. The Germans defend their 3-2 lead from the first leg thanks to a 2-2 at home. Erling Haaland scores both of Dortmund’s goals.

Dortmund once again relied on their Norwegian top scorer: the Bundesliga’s sixth-ranked player defended the upholstery 3-2 from the first leg with little style. But thanks to the exceptional 20-year-old forward, there was no real nervous game. Haaland refined Dortmund’s first successful combination in the 35th minute to make it 1-0 and thus relaxed Dortmund’s situation.

After the break, Haaland was at the beginning and end of a strange six-minute interlude. First, Haaland’s 2-0 win was annulled in the 48th minute due to a foul and the forward was awarded a penalty. Sevillian goalkeeper Bono stopped the attempt and the margin.

When his teammates were already on the counterattack, the Turkish referee Cakir intervened again: Bono had left the goal line too early, so Haaland was allowed to start a second half from the penalty spot and in the minute 54 finally marked his 20th. Championship title, league goal (in match 14) scored.

Haaland sanctions at a glance:

The provocation of the Sevillian goalkeeper Bono after his tenth goal of the season in the Champions League would not have been necessary. Haaland rightly saw the yellow card.

Sevilla were never discouraged even after the 2-0 draw. Youssef En-Nesyri’s two goals (69th and 96th) were not enough to win the match they deserved.

The Spanish played forward with great vigor and repeatedly pushed Dortmund back for minutes. Without the convalescent Manuel Akani and the injured Jadon Sancho and Giovanni Reyna, the Germans did not give an impression of confidence. But in the end, Dortmund didn’t care about anything: they had Haaland

Switzerland set a new arms export record in 2020 – this is where the material went

In 2020, Switzerland exported war material worth 901 million francs. Swiss defense companies are pulverizing last year’s figures. The group Switzerland without an army considers this to be a scandal.

There is no sign of the crisis: Swiss arms companies sent war material worth 901.2 million francs around the world in 2020, a record. Switzerland has never exported so much military equipment since the data was recorded in 1983.

The increase of 173.2 million francs is mainly due to greater agreements with Denmark, Indonesia, Botswana and Romania, as announced on Tuesday by the Secretary of State for the Economy (Seco).

In general, exports are …
