The “Feminist Strike Zurich” collective held events in the city of Zurich this weekend. Hundreds of women gathered Saturday afternoon in District 4 for an unauthorized women’s rally. The protesters resisted the instructions of the police. The Zurich city police used pepper spray and several people were taken away. Water launch is also available.

The city police announced on Twitter that they would not tolerate the prohibited gathering. “We continue to systematically monitor, denounce and reject people who are not discreet.”

Around 4:30 pm a march of around 300 people began. As the “Tages-Anzeiger” reports, the demonstration has grown to almost 1,000 people. The police also changed their tack, apparently letting the protesters do their thing until further notice. The move should end at the bakery.
