YB beat Servette 2-0, Lucerne won 3-2 in Lugano.
Neither Sion nor FCZ actually played for victory in the final phase of the match at the Letzigrund in Zurich. Ten minutes before the end of the game, the Zurich team came through Toni Domgjoni to the only remarkable stage in front of Timothy Fayulus’s goal in the second half.
And the guests were weakened by the yellow-red card against Wesley in the 88th minute. So it stayed at 1: 1, which is why Zurich is better served.
Brecher dodges another penalty
In the hectic first half, the Valais could have steered the action from the start in the direction they wanted. After Luca Clemenza’s first goal in the Superliga in the 12th minute, Anto Grgic missed 2-0 twice:
- 24. Minute: The midfielder with past FCZ arrives free to head but aims to miss.
- 31. Minute: Grgic misses after an inexperienced hand from Fidan Aliti from the penalty spot to Yanick Brecher. The FCZ goalkeeper has already taken the third penalty kick this season.
The FCZ found it less difficult to accept these gifts. Blaz Kramer missed a 100 percent chance in the 37th minute, but made up for something he had lost just two minutes later.
“Chilla”, the dog of the Canepa presidential couple, was also enthusiastic about the tie. The four-legged friend allowed himself a trip to the terrain and was accompanied by Ancillo Canepa running towards the catacombs.
The FCZ failed to move up to one spot in Basel and second on the table. Sion, who did not lose to FCZ for the fifth time in a row, is back in Barrage square thanks to Lucerne’s victory.
So it goes
