Davos – SCL Tigers 9: 2
Davos and the Tigers didn’t need time to wait. After just 6 minutes and 39 seconds, the score was 3: 1. After nearly 3 minutes, Marcus Nilsson had put the guests ahead after a solo. Valentin Nussbaumer tied 43 seconds later, Marc Wieser and (5th) and Fabrice Herzog finally turned the game around.
HCD also proved to be at their best in their first home game after 6 away appearances. Aaron Palushaj (18th), again Herzog and Jesse Zgraggen increased to 6: 1 every minute in the first third. After Jules Sturny’s deflected shot to make it 2: 6 (23), there were no more goals until the last third. Teemu Turunen (47th, 52nd) then put together a double and Herzog sealed the game at 9: 2.
Freiburg 3-2 Geneva
The goals in Freiburg were not long in coming. However, they only fell for the hosts: Samuel Walser scored in the majority after 107 seconds, Julien Sprunger rose to 2-0 after five and a half minutes. Geneva then belonged to the middle third: thanks to Tanner Richard (21) and Timothy Kast (37), the Romans reached 1: 2 and 2: 3.
David Desharnais (36th) had risen to 3: 1 after a deflected shot. Before, however, Freiburg almost lost the advantage, as the guests registered 2 shots to the post. In the final third, Gottéron confined himself to defense work and Guinevere lacked bright ideas.
Biel – Lakers 3: 1
The EHCB won against the Lakers thanks to an intermediate sprint. Between the 12th and 18th minutes, the New Zealanders scored 3 goals from Mike Künzle (after a combination), Toni Rajala (outnumbered) and Michael Hügli.
Curious: Hügli scored his goal immediately after returning from the penalty area, while Roman Cervenka was kneeling on the ice without skidding on the other side (video below). Nando Eggenberger was able to score the 1: 3 with the backhand after 42 minutes, but nothing else was possible for Rapperswiler, who played slightly better overall.
Ambri-Piotta 0-6 Lausanne
Ambri-Piotta has no chance against Lausanne, fresh out of quarantine: After just 3 minutes, Lukas Frick showed the direction in which this game would develop. After the goals of Joël Genazzi (26th), Cory Emmerton (29th), Cory Conacher (39th), Christoph Bertschy (50th) and Ronalds Kenins (54th), the 6-0 victory was a fact. Emmerton’s goal in particular was a sight to see, charging Ambri goalkeeper Damiano Ciaccio with a bodily deception.
