SC Bern – Ambri 3: 1
5 defeats in a row last rained down in the SCB, including a 1: 7 disgrace earlier in the year in Lausanne. At home, the still battered master managed to free himself. While the Bernese had lost a 3-0 lead in the last direct duel with Ambri, Mutzen prevailed this time. The two-length advantage was achieved by the second worst team in the league in terms of superior numbers with 2 power play goals from Simon Moser (8th) and Dustin Jeffrey (14th). The subsequent goal by Marco Müller, also in the power game (32nd), did not bother Berna. Again Jeffrey responded immediately (36th). Even if the Bernese’s third power play goal was missed by Mika Henauer due to a goalkeeper handicap, SCB’s second success with coach Mario Kogler was no longer in jeopardy.
Lugano – SCL Tigres 5: 1
Also because Robbie Earl left a good chance for Langnauer with double the majority, an unspectacular opening third ended scoreless. Then Lugano appeared and made it 2-0 with a double strike. Mikkel Bödker’s lead (23rd) with ice skating only received the “kick-free movement” stamp of approval from the referees after a few minutes. Alessio Bertaggia doubled just 3 minutes later after a nice feint and made it 3-0 18 seconds before the second break. In the final phase, Dario Bürgler was also allowed to score and Bertaggia completed his hat trick. With the consolation goal, Flavio Schmutz secured a small cosmetic result.
Zug – Davos 3: 4 nP
After a hard-fought opening phase and hits by Grégory Hofmann (18th) of Zug and Teemu Turunen (23rd) of Davos, Livio Langenegger put the leader in the lead with his first goal of the season. A crazy final third followed. After Magnus Nygren’s tie at 2-2 (41st), Yannick Zehnder (50th) scored again at 3-2 for Zug. The new lead lasted just 46 seconds, then Marc Wieser tied. As with both HCD goals, Enzo Corvi provided the assist. With 18 templates it was located at the top of the ranking. In extra time, Zug missed several chances for the winning goal. On the penalty shoot-out, Davos kept the best winger for himself with successful 3: 1 attempts.
Freiburg 4-1 Biel
Freiburg appears to have digested the 0: 5 against Ambri earlier in the year. Thanks to the victory over Biel, the “dragons” temporarily overtake Lausanne, who could not compete in the Léman derby against Servette due to a crown case. Killian Mottet was particularly strong, setting up 1: 1 in the power play and Viktor Stalberg’s 3: 1 after falling behind and scoring 2: 1 (also in most) himself. Captain Julien Sprunger closed the 7th straight win in the head-to-head game against Zeeland with another outnumbered goal to make it 4-1.
