The images of a hospital in Leicester, England, go around the world: mother María Rico († 76) lies next to her daughter Anabel Sharma (49) and holds her hand. They both have Corona.
As “The Sun” writes, María Rico dies of coronavirus on November 1, just 24 hours after the photo was taken. In her final minutes, the dying mother removes her oxygen mask to say goodbye to Anabel Sharma and her sister Susana. Susana was allowed to enter the room especially to say goodbye.
“Anabel, your mother is dying”
Anabel Sharma describes the last hours we spent with “ITV”: “My mother told me not to be afraid and fight for my children. But you’ve had enough yourself. The doctors told me she was ready to go. “Then she asked the doctors what that meant. The answer:” Anabel, your mother is dying. ”
Anabel Sharma may be released from the hospital a month after her mother’s death, but she has to deal with severe lung damage and still needs oxygen.
Her youngest son cannot bear the loss of his grandmother. He is sitting in his room holding one of his pillows because he misses her so much.
Fateful September
The tragedy began in September 2020. The family became infected after the son contracted the coronavirus for the first time at school.
In October, another stroke of fate: María Rico and her daughter Anabel Sharma are admitted to a hospital and receive oxygen. Two weeks later, María Rico reports that she doesn’t want to be resurrected if something happens to her. The next day, they take their daughter Anabel Sharma to her mother’s room, where the two of them spend time together thereafter.
Terrifying dynamics
Anabel Sharma says the speed at which the virus has affected her entire family is terrifying. She tells “Sunday People” that anyone who wants to break the rules should put themselves in their shoes. One should think about what it would be like to see the mother die. (my I)
