At the vaccination centers of the Cantonal Hospital Aarau (KSA) and the Cantonal Hospital Baden (KSB), particularly vulnerable people and people over 75 years of age will be vaccinated against the coronavirus from January 5, according to the canton. Registrations are possible from today Monday.
The vaccination campaign will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, January 5, at the KSA and KSB vaccination centers as well as through mobile units. These serve particularly vulnerable households and people at home who cannot be transported.
The Aargau has around 8,000 vaccination doses available in the first delivery. People at particular risk, as well as everyone over 75 years of age, have the right to register and can register from this morning at 8 a.m. on the websites of the Aarau Cantonal Hospital (www.ksa.ch), the Baden Cantonal Hospital (www.ksb.ch) and the canton Register for a vaccination in Aargau (www.ag.ch/coronavirus-imichtung).
Health Director Gallati calls for solidarity
The director of the project, Andreas Obrecht, asks for patience, because “on the one hand the vaccine available in the first phase is rationed and on the other hand it is important to follow hygiene regulations and quarantine measures even after a vaccine”. “The vaccine is intended to reduce the number of serious Covid-19 illnesses and therefore in particular to relieve the intensive care units of hospitals, which have been providing highly professional care to the population of Aargau for weeks. and months “, emphasizes Barbara Hürlimann, Head of the Health Department in the Department of Health and Social Affairs. .
The health director, Jean-Pierre Gallati, appeals: “With vaccination, the residents of Aargau can make an important contribution to relieve health personnel, hospitals and homes.”
Vaccination is expanded to include the entire population
The Covid 19 vaccination campaign in Aargau is carried out in accordance with the specifications of the Federal Office of Public Health. In a first phase, particularly vulnerable people with previous illnesses, people over 75 years of age and exposed health workers (doctors and nurses in hospitals and homes) are vaccinated. As soon as more vaccination doses are available, the number of people approved and vaccination options will gradually increase.
Other hospitals in the regions, general practitioners, and presumably pharmacies will also administer the Covid-19 vaccines (pharmacies need a prescription change). The Covid-19 vaccination is voluntary and free for the population.
