The number of reproductions, which indicates the average number of people infected by an infected person, increased slightly again in Switzerland before Christmas. The last possible estimate for December 22 was 0.92.

According to the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) on New Year’s Day, the R-value had fallen below 1 on December 5. On December 30, the BAG reported an R-value of 0.75 for December 20, citing ETH calculations, and a value of 0.85 a day later.
On January 1, these values were revised upwards. Consequently, the number of views in Switzerland fell to 0.91 on December 15. Since December 20 it has been 0.92. In Vaud (1.05), Valais (1.08), Neuchâtel (1.04), Nidwalden (1.01), Uri (1.03) and Appenzell Innerrhoden (1.18) on R- On December 18, the value was even higher than 1. This means that Two weeks ago, a few days before Christmas, the disease spread in these cantons and the total number of infected people increased. To slow the spread of the virus, the number of breeders should be significantly less than 1.
