In what was probably the last vote in the US Congress before its reconstitution, Republicans made it clear that their near-absolute loyalty to President Donald Trump is waning. Like Monday in the House of Representatives, they have now overridden Trump’s veto against the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) in the Senate. The result of 81 to 13 votes shows that opposition to Trump in the Grand Old Party has grown since Monday. In both houses of Congress, the required majority of two-thirds of the votes was clearly exceeded.
