Deschwanden, Ammann and Peter will be in Oberstdorf on Tuesday. The Poles, however, will be absent.
Gregor Deschwanden (10th), Simon Ammann (32nd) and Dominik Peter (50th) will be there on Tuesday for the first competition of the Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf. The Swiss trio survived qualification.
Turbulent winds and snowfall weakened the informative value of the ranking. Despite his bad luck, Peter was lucky. He came to the main field in 50th place and is allowed to play qualifying winner Philipp Aschenwald of Austria.
Poland excluded for the moment
Poland’s ski jumpers have been excluded from the start of the 69th Four Hills Tournament after Klemens Muranka’s positive corona test. The organizers announced this on Monday shortly before qualifying. With defending champion Dawid Kubacki and two-time winner Kamil Stoch, two favorites for the tour would be out of the running.
However, at night, the chaos: because Muranka’s second test was negative, the Poles now insist on being able to jump. The association hopes that the qualification held on Monday afternoon will be repeated or that the Poles will be admitted to the competition on Tuesday without a qualifying jump. Secretary General Florian Stern had emphasized in the afternoon that the results of the additional tests would no longer have any influence on the exclusion of Oberstdorf.
