Roger Federer (39) cancels his participation in the Australian Open! The Swiss tennis star is currently recovering from two operations on his right knee. “Roger has decided not to play the Australian Open in 2021. He has made great strides in his knee and his fitness in recent months,” Federer’s manager Tony Godsick told the AP.
Godsick continues: “However, after consulting with his team, he decided that in the long run it would be the best decision for him to return to competitive tennis after the Australian Open.” (nim)
After all: Roger Federer is planning to return to the ATP tour. His team is already looking to the future and would like to start planning for Olympic year 2021. “I will start talking next week for the tournaments that start in late February and then I will start working on a schedule for the rest of the year.” Godsick said.
