It is not the only restaurant in the Roman city that was buried by Vesuvius. But it has some special features to offer.

wde. Quite cheap bars and restaurants like to advertise with pictures of the dishes they offer. A discovery in the ruins of the Roman city of Pompeii, which was buried by Vesuvius, shows that this is by no means a new phenomenon, but existed as a publicity strategy 2,000 years ago. Archaeologists have unearthed an old snack bar there, with a counter that is brightly painted with pictures of chickens and geese, which were likely on the menu. The Thermopolium, as the Romans called those restaurants in Latin, was found and partially discovered as early as 2019, but the discovery and the first research results have only now been announced.
