A 36-year-old man was arrested by the police on Christmas Eve in the canton of Aargau after several threats to his family. The Swiss had issued threats repeatedly on Tuesday and Thursday.
Police flared up at a threat Tuesday, as Aargau canton police announced on Friday. This deployed a large contingent due to possible potential danger. The man was initially unavailable until Wednesday night. According to the police, the situation was temporarily alleviated and the emergency services withdrew.
During the course of Thursday, the situation worsened again with new threats, police said. The man was then arrested at his place of residence on Thursday night. The prosecutor opened a criminal investigation and ordered the provisional arrest. The authority did not provide information on the nature of the threats.
