The Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) reported on December 24 that Britain’s variant of the mutated virus had been found in Switzerland in two samples. In England, the government imposed strict lockdowns after the appearance of the new variant, because it is considered much more contagious than previously known variants of the virus.
