Sunderland AFC looks forward to a better future. A 22-year-old should take care of that. The name Louis-Dreyfus is no stranger to this.
The Swiss Kyril Louis-Dreyfus becomes the new owner of the traditional English club AFC Sunderland. As the League One club announced on its website at Christmas, the previous owner, Stewart Donald, agreed to an acquisition with the 22-year-old from Zurich. This should take place in mid-January, as soon as the English Football League (EFL) has approved the deal.
Louis-Dreyfus is the son of the late Robert Louis-Dreyfus and Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, the former owner of Olympique de Marseille, who lives in Switzerland with her current partner, the former president of the National Bank Philipp Hildebrand.
Sunderland are currently in the midfield of League One, the third highest league in England. The northeast club of the country gained greater prominence through the Netflix documentary “Sunderland ‘Til I Die”, which highlights the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons after the relegation of the Premier League.
