Paris St. Germain is stubbornly silent on the rumor that coach Thomas Tuchel should be fired. But now Kylian Mbappé throws himself forward.
Kylian Mbappé has already said goodbye to his club’s coach, Thomas Tuchel, on social media. “Unfortunately, that’s the law of football, but no one will forget your time here,” the 22-year-old wrote on his Instagram account: “You wrote a good PSG chapter, thank you for that.”
One day after the Parisians’ 4-0 victory in Ligue 1 against relegation candidate Strasbourg, it was mainly the French sports magazine The team and other media reported the dismissal of Tuchel, 47. The successor is the Argentine Mauricio Pochettino. An official statement from the club is still missing.
Former Bundesliga coach Tuchel had taken over the post in the French metropolis for the 2018/19 season. Paris won two championship titles with the German and was in the CL final against Bayern Munich (0: 1) this summer.
This season PSG is third in the table around the stars Neymar, Mbappé and Angel di Maria, one point behind Lyon and Lille.
