The driver involved in the accident is a 57-year-old man, as announced by the Basel-Landschaft police. He was on his way to Metzerlen. In a right turn, he lost control of the vehicle for reasons that are not yet clear.
As a result, he turned right off the road and into the meadow and collided with a traffic delineator there. Then the car went several more meters, hit a slope and finally hit a tree.
The driver was injured in the accident and was taken to hospital. The fire brigade secured the crashed vehicle before it was recovered and removed by a towing company, according to the message.
