A mutated form of the coronavirus has forced much of England into a harsh lockdown. It is true that the mutated virus does not appear to cause more serious disease processes. However, several countries have stopped traveling to Britain as an emergency.

England could protect itself from Europe faster than expected: Due to a highly contagious and newly emerging corona virus mutation, many European countries are closing their borders to travel to and from Britain.

In London and much of southern England, public life has come to a standstill since Sunday morning. The government imposed an emergency lockdown on the capital and other areas on Saturday because a new mutated form of the coronavirus caused a massive increase in the number of cases. According to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the mutated variant is likely to spread up to 70 percent more easily than the conventional form of the coronavirus, even if it does not lead to more severe symptoms. On Wednesday, Johnson had assured the British that people from up to three households could celebrate together over the holidays. But now Londoners have to stay home for Christmas and are only allowed to meet one person from another home, and only outdoors. Only single people can still join another household.
