A 76-year-old woman was hit by a truck in Neukirch on Friday afternoon and was fatally injured. Thurgau canton police are looking for witnesses.
According to the Thurgau cantonal police findings so far, the woman wanted to cross St. Gallerstrasse at the crosswalk in front of the roundabout in the center of Neukirch at 3:45 pm when she was hit by a truck coming from Winden . The woman was seriously injured in the collision and died at the crash site despite emergency medical attention from the emergency services. The 67-year-old driver of the truck claimed during questioning that he had not seen the woman.
