Beat Feuz secured his first podium this season at the second downhill World Cup. The Emmentaler came third in Val Gardena. Aleksander Kilde is once again at the top of the ranking.

The Norwegian, who had won the Super-G 24 hours earlier, won 22 hundredths of an advantage over the surprising American Ryan Cochran-Siegle.

In addition to Feuz, who finished third at the Saslong two years ago, Carlo Janka also showed a good performance beforehand. Bündner, who was plagued with back problems, came in seventh. Mauro Caviezel was the third best Swiss in twelfth place.

Feuz continued his great series of first places on the descent with the podium. In the last 25 races he was always ranked in the top six. In the last three winters, his perseverance earned him the victory of the discipline World Cup.

Kilde won downhill at Val Gardena for the second time after his victory two years ago. The Norwegian avoided the big surprise. With his first podium at the World Cup, Cochran-Siegle follows in the footsteps of Steven Nyman.

His compatriot, currently out of action with a torn Achilles tendon in his right foot, won the downhill race three times in Val Gardena. Cochran-Siegle was the best of a convincing American team. Bryce Bennett was fourth, Jared Goldberg sixth.
