An intensified ticket inspection on a Zurich city bus ended for three inspectors and one evader in front of the Zurich District Court (VIEW reported). The verdict was delivered on Friday: Due to being hit, kicked and pushed to the ground, two of the three VBZ employees and evader Samir A. * (23) were convicted.
A week ago, the Swiss-Egyptian and the three inspectors met again in front of the judge, and the events of July 1, 2018 were completely different.
The young man from Zurich was traveling without a ticket at the time and was greatly provoked by the VBZ men during the inspection. One of the inspectors, the main defendant (47), took it “very slowly”, said the defendant in front of the judge – he himself had “looked for the receipt.” The situation at the Zurich-Wipkingen bus station immediately escalated.
Did the VBZ man kick the evader in the face?
“He pushed me,” Samir said in the direction of his adversary. VBZ’s longtime customer advisor denied this version.
One thing is certain: the young man struck hard and hit the controller in the face. “Today I still have thickening on my lip,” said the VBZ man. His co-defendant colleagues grabbed the evader and pinned him to the ground. The assembled inspector sat down briefly. Then the scene followed, which should bring him the charge of attempted serious bodily harm.
Then he said to Samir A, who was nailed to the ground: “Look what you’ve done.” Then the inspector kicked the evader hard in the face. He also attacked a passerby who was filming the bleak scenes.
The companions who pushed the beaten passenger to the ground had to be accused by the Prosecutor’s Office of simple bodily harm because Samir A. was slightly injured when he pressed down.
Condemned kick controller
The verdict: The court sentenced the kicking controller to two years in prison for attempted serious bodily harm. “The kick to the face was confirmed by several witnesses,” the judge said.
The already convicted evader was hit the hardest: 14 months absolutely by the VBZ incident, in the general package with thefts and a discussion with the police officers!
One of the two VBZ men who pushed the striking passengers to the ground was sentenced to a conditional fine for simple assault. The third inspector acquitted completely.
