The sequel to the cult comedy “The Prince of Zamunda” (“Coming to America”) with Hollywood stars Eddie Murphy (59) and Arsenio Hall (64) will launch on Amazon Prime Video in March.

On Thursday, the streaming service released the first photos of “The King of Zamunda,” including Murphy as the disguised prince of the fictional African kingdom of Zamunda. “Prince Akeem is back,” he said on Instagram, winking that he “only” lasted 32 years.

In the original 1988 film, Murphy played the African prince who travels to New York to see the bride. The direction was directed by John Landis (“Blues Brothers”). In director Craig Brewer’s sequel (“Hustle & Flow”), Akeem, now king, returns to America to track down a long-lost son. Arsenio Hall is back in the role of Akeem’s best friend. Wesley Snipes will play a new character as a general who rules a neighboring African state. From the old line-up, Shari Headley and James Earl Jones are among others. (sda / dpa)
